Parish Council

Our Parish Council assists the Pastor in the life and mission of St. Joseph’s Church through deliberation and consultation. Management and Planning Committee

The Management and Planning Committee is comprised of parishioners sharing their talents in business management, law, finance, information technology, human resources, engineering, and procurement in support of the needs of the Parish and School. We serve as a management and planning body which develops and implements recommendations in the areas of facility, finance, human resources, and other issues which the pastor and parish council deem appropriate.

How Can I Become More Involved?

Time is the greatest gift that any of us can offer, and Volunteerism is one of the many ways to support our great parish. We all bring the gift of special talents and life experience. At St. Joseph's, We are blessed to have more than 900 volunteers as Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Children's Liturgy, Altar Servers, Social Ministries, Choir, Vacation Church School, Boy and Girl Scouts, CYO Basketball leages to name a few.For more information about our programs, or to volunteer, contact the parish office at (410) 683 - 0600 option 1 or the religious education department, at (410) 683 - 0600 option 4

Weekly Offertory represents our gift to God in support of our thriving community parish. It is our weekly donations that support our many social ministry programs, outreach programs, as well as the many operational needs of the parish facilities. As a 150 year-old parish, we continue to support the legacy created by the immigrant stone workers who started our parish in the mid-1800s. Your weekly offertory donation is the main source of operational income to support our parish.

A Legacy Gift enables you to remember the parish by providing a living gift as part of your estate plan. For more information about this special gesture, please contact Judi Keys, Administrative Assistant for Special Projects. Judi can be contacted through the parish office.

REGULAR ACTIVITIES

I. Facility Maintenance
Each month our committee reviews the maintenance needs of the parish. We work closely with the
Chief of Operations to ensure proper funding is available for appropriate parish and school upkeep, today and in the future.

II. Our Five Year Plan
Your Continuing Generosity through the offertory has enabled St. Joseph to do many great things. We have been able to address recently several major components of our long-term plan.

Completion of the first five year plan by replacing the roof on the 50's era, "Main School" building
Refinish and cushion the church pews
Adapt the staff to continue to meet changing parish needs
Replentish the parish reserve fund to meet ongoing financial needs

...and we are always revisiting our five-year plan

III.Parish Administration
Through the sharing of member talents, the Management and Planning Committee provides recommendations,
as requested by the Pastor, in the areas of Information Technology, Human Resources issues, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance. This dedicated resource group assists with tracking key operational metrics, offertory audits, and preparation for future parish and school needs.
