Love the Church
Having faith means drawing support from the faith of your brothers and sister, even as your own faith serves as a support for the faith of others. I ask you, dear friends, to love the Church which brought you to birth in the faith, which helped you to grow in the knowledge of Christ and which led you to discover the beauty of His love. Growing in friendship with Christ means recognizing the importance of joyful participation the life of your parishes, communities and movements, as well as the celebration of Sunday Mass, frequent reception of the sacrament of Reconciliation, and the cultivation of personal prayer and meditation on God’s Word.
                 - Pope Benedict XVI   Homily at closing liturgy

  Youth Ministry

 St. Joseph’s Catholic Youth Ministry program is designed to meet the needs of youth through teaching, fellowship, service, community, and prayer.

The program is designed to be comprehensive, as directed by the US Bishops document on youth ministry: Renewing the Vision.

Our goals are:

a. To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus in our world today;

b. To draw young people into responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of our Catholic faith community;

c. To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

The CYM operates for, by, and with high school students in grades 9-12, and middle school students in grades 6-8.

Each group has a youth council and advisors who help support the program in countless ways.

Young adult and parent volunteers are integral to the implementation of our programs and are encouraged to participate in the support of the parish youth.

If you would like more information or are interested in joining or helping our Youth Ministry program, please contact Kathleen Harrigan Paul at 410-683-0600 x5 or kpaul@sjpmd.org
