The Lord is risen indeed! On behalf of our entire parish and school staff, I extend greetings of Easter joy to you. The Resurrection of Jesus changes the way we look at life and the world, because as he emerges from the tomb, the Lord demonstrates his power over death. In Jesus, we find the source of our ultimate hope… there is nothing that God cannot do for us. We have been confronted—even surrounded to the point of feeling overwhelmed—with pain, suffering, loss, and fear because of the limits of our often broken world. The Risen Lord on Easter morning is our comfort, our refuge, and the source of hope that all will be well, no matter what the obstacle or challenge.
I want to express heartfelt gratitude to all who have helped us in our prayer, our worship, and our works of charity and service during Lent and Holy Week. Many people have worked tirelessly behind the scenes for many weeks to lead us to this day.
A special word of welcome to the newest members of our Church who celebrated the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist or who were received into the Full Communion of the Church at the Easter Vigil. Your faith, dedication, and trust in God encourage all of us as together we follow the Lord.
To all who are visiting with us, welcome to St. Joseph! I hope you will join us often to bask in the joy of the Risen Lord and to find hope in the midst of the challenges of daily life. A special welcome home to our college and graduate students here on Easter break! May our prayer together this Easter morning inspire you to seek the Lord in all things.
Wishing you the peace of the Risen Christ,
